Abstract:	In this paper we investigate spaces of unequally smooth local bivariate quadratic splines, defined on criss-cross triangulations of a rectangular domain. For such spaces we prove a dimension formula, we obtain local bases and propose a computational procedure for their construction. Finally an application to constrained surface generation is provided.
