Visiones desde los partidos politicos latinoamericanos : el nacimiento de la Copppal y la Internacional Socialista (1976-1983)

El artículo reconstruye los orígenes del surgimiento de la primera organización transnacional de partidos progresistas latinoamericanos (Copppal), estrictamente relacionada a las vicisitudes de la Internacional Socialista que en aquel entonces vivía una extraordinaria expansión en la región. Más allá de la convergencia en valores y objetivos políticos, el artículo evidencia las divergencias de visiones definiendo el horizonte progresista propiamente latinoamericano abriendo espacio a nuevas interpretaciones sobre el papel de las organizaciones internacionales de los partidos latinoamericanos en el proceso de democratización de la región y en la construcción de un espacio de concertación del progresismo. This article reconstructs the origins of the first transnational organization of Latin American Progressive Parties (Coppal), closely linked to the vicissitude of the Socialist International, that was going through an extraordinary expansion in the region. More than the convergences in values and political goals, this article focuses on different visions, defining the true “horizon” of Latin American progressive; it will provide a new interpretation about the role of the international organization of Latin American progressive parties in the process of democratization of the region and in the construction of new forums of concertation for the progressives.
